M is for Moving

I haven't posted in over a month. In fact, I haven't posted yet this YEAR, which is weird to say. 2017 has thrown at us a whirlwind couple of weeks so far and we've been crazy busy as we prepare for the BIG MOVE. For those of you don't know yet, and I think that's a pretty small group as it's fairly public knowledge at this point, we are relocating from New York City back to Los Angeles one week from today. That's right, movers will be showing up at our door at 9 am TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY. Which means...

WE NEED TO FINISH PACKING OUR JUNK!!

We got an early start, beginning to pack boxes the last weekend in January. Sometimes I feel like we're in a really good spot, and sometimes I'm like AAAGGGHHHH how is all this stuff going to be contained and ready for transport by the 27th? Why does packing always go so much slower than one expects?! I keep making lists of all the things I need to do Tonight, Tomorrow, This Weekend, etc. in order to be ready in time and smugly pat myself on the back for being so organized, then go home and eat mint milanos while binge-watching The Magicians instead of wrestling with the packing tape. LAME.

So now, in true procrastination fashion,
how about some pictures of my cute kid instead of actually packing?
And by cute, I mean naked. Because clothes are overrated.

C is for California Christmas

While I'm down in LA working this week,
Graham's been very busy with Jamma and Pop Pop up in Nipomo!

No animal incidents this year!

Just a whole lot of bonding with his new best friend Fig.

B is for Broadway

"They say the neon lights are bright ON BROAD WAAAAAAAAAAY!!"
The Drifters were right! Times Square is BRIGHT.

A friend of mine recently taught me how to "rush" Broadway shows for cheaper tickets and there are certainly shows you can enter to win tix for online, so I'm suddenly obsessed with all things Broadway. While my mom was visiting, we won lottery tickets TWICE (to Cats and Something Rotten!), which was really fun. One show was a total bizarro miss and the other was amazing...

...can you guess which was which??

For DVC's birthday we went to see two of his favorite comedians
in  the non-musical "Oh, Hello" which was fast-paced and odd and delightful.

The a friend invited me to go see Kinky Boots with her when she got free tix from her cousin who works at the theater. SCORE! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.

And I won the lottery the following week to go see School of Rock, so Dave picked G up from school and I took myself on a nice little self-date. The stage version followed the movie (which I loved) pretty closely and, most impressively, the kids play all the music LIVE every single show and they were of course amazingly talented. Made me wonder when we should start Graham's ballet and piano lessons...

PS it just got SO COLD this week!
