37 Weeks Old

Happy 37 weeks to happy little me!

Reading lots of books and LOVES his little bookshelf in the living room. Starting to learn the difference between his bookshelves and ours... still curious and really hoping to pull ALL books off ALL shelves within his reach, but actually responding when we say no. Mostly with a wide-eyed look, sometimes with a bit of a fit. Sorry kid.

New fruit this week: apricots! Definitely prefers when we give him a whole piece of fruit to gnaw on, rather than breaking off baby sized chunks. Already expressing his independence. *sigh*

Loves making faces with mom and riding high up on dad's shoulders. And starting the whole social laugh thing, where he'll break into laughter any time we are laughing. HA! This is funny! Right, guys? Haha! Right?!

Pulling up on EVERYTHING that might possibly allow him to stand next to it. And doing so with style.

36 Weeks Old

GRAHAM STARTED CRAWLING!!

Like for real, up on his hands and knees, tummy not touching the ground, actual factual crawling. And I witnessed it WOOHOO!! I had been so afraid he would do it for the first time at daycare and we'd miss it. But Sunday he got his knees up under his belly for the first time and crawled right to me! We've tried to catch it on video, but haven't gotten a good one yet. He did manage to do it for my parents on FaceTime though! It was very exciting and they were cheering him on from afar.

And now that he can crawl, his favorite thing to do is make a beeline for the bookshelf and pull all of his books off the shelf, one by one. So far we've managed to keep this activity limited to his own mini bookshelf; feverishly brainstorming ways to protect our low-level shelves full of grown-up books (just begging to be strewn across the room and chewed to a pulp).

Graham loves sitting with us in the kitchen while we are making breakfast or dinner. He's got a perfect little corner from which to watch all the action while gnawing on a piece of fruit or even a piece of crusty bread. Trying lots of new foods: cucumber, plums, even a few bites of meatloaf last night!

He's got a sad little bruise on the corner of his forehead (yes, his head has corners) because he keeps bonking the same darn spot over and over again in his attempts to crawl and pull up on everything from the coffee table to the side of the bed. Guess that poor little bruise will remain a constant for the next few months at least!

35 Weeks Old

Whoops late post again this week. On Monday, Graham was 35 weeks old!

He celebrated by shimmying all over the living room floor,

hosting an intimate group of friends for a bathtime soiree,

trying out a new 'do,

watching Djokovic battle past Federer to claim his third Wimbledon victory,

and, of course, some beloved swing time in his new summer shorts!

PS his new nickname at school is Grambo. Don't mess.

STOP Jamma Time

My mom rounded out the "Month of Stephenson" with a nearly-week-long visit just before we headed up to Caz for the holiday weekend. We realized while she was here that it was actually her third time visiting this year, and her fifth time since G was born! She just recently retired, so I expect/hope that the frequency of visits will only increase.

Ready for summer in brand new boardshorts!

G had an awesome time staying home from daycare with Jamma for a full week! He'll begin going to school four days per week in July, so it was nice that he got a little "vacation" beforehand. And boy did they have fun.

Bye Jamma, we miss you already!

Can't wait to see you in Cape May!
