49 Weeks Old

Hip hop harmonica! Graham Funk Railroad is starting a new trend. You heard it here first, folks.

It was nice and chilly this weekend so we bundled up, got some coffee to go and went for a long walk to a brand new playground in Central Park. Perfect New York Saturday. G has been sporting a puffer vest like a boss and is fascinated by the colorful leaves. No need for shoes, though. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Still loooves being in the kitchen. A favorite new game is crawling all the way inside the cupboards. Oh hi.

He has a sudden aptitude for remarkable concentration and can remain steadily fixed on the same task for much longer than ever before. He'll often work very diligently with his wooden block box (thanks for the hand-me-down, Elliot!) at our feet in the kitchen the entire time we are cooking dinner or cleaning up.

Until of course you open the dishwasher. No matter where he is or what he's doing BOOM he's there to "help" in 2.5 seconds. What is it with toddlers and dishwashers? It's like they have sonar hearing for the slowest, most subtle opening of the door. MOM! DID YOU NEED ME FOR THE SPOONS?! I'LL BE RIGHT THERE MOM!!

Take Me Out to the Playroom

We've just discovered that we have a playroom in our building!

And it's AWESOME!

Graham loves opening and closing all of the doors in the kitchen,
as well as rearranging the mini furniture.

We've visited a few times already, invited our fancy British friend Fraser over for a playdate once, and are very much looking forward to have somewhere to easily escape to during the miserable cold of winter.

Want to come over and play??

48 Weeks Old

We trekked all the way out to Brooklyn on Saturday to meet some friends for a picnic and babypalooza in Prospect Park. Graham continued his old love affair with the grass and began a new one as well...

Apparently we need to invest in a soccer ball. Ob. Sessed.

Sunday we spent at the park much closer to home, on our very own block to be specific. Graham was elated to experience his first whirl on the tire swing, and then promptly got a bloody nose upon dismount when he pushed the tire gleefully away and it came back to bop him in the face. Oops!

Once the tears subsided and the blood was mopped from his poor little face (so much blood, ugh it was awful) he went straight back to work examining every inch of the park and play structure.

Clearly I was much more traumatized than he.

MOMMMMM!! WHEN CAN WE GO BACK ON THE TIRE SWING?!?!
