What. A. Week.
Last week started out super positive what with our return from vacation and Graham's actual birthday, then veered into not-so-fun territory for us very quickly and only got more miserable as the week progressed. G had to get FIVE shots at his doctor appointment on Wednesday and then caught a stomach virus that had him unable to keep any food down for two days straight, while I got food poisoning just as I was started to improve from a nasty cold. Friday night, which found two-thirds of the family barfing non-stop, was definitely the low-point. Things made a turn for the better by Saturday evening, as we had collectively recovered enough to host a guest, and Sunday we actually had a lovely, relaxing day. But boy were there a rough few days to get through.
VERY MUCH looking forward to the start of a new week and a clean slate.

Go Shorty, It's Your Birthday

I AM GOING TO CELEBRATE THE HECK OUT OF THIS FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF MY ARRIVAL ON THIS PLANET BY SPRINTING ALL OVER THE HOUSE!!! MOM! WATCH ME!!
Well, that sure was an abrupt change. Crawl. Wobble. Sprint.
The suddenly reinvigorated ferocity with which G is exploring this apartment is admirable.
Golly, I'm tired.

52 Weeks Old!
Last day of being zero!

And how did this little goofball spend it?
- Sleeping in until EIGHT THIRTY (!) when we finally had to wake him up in order to start the day.
- A crazy, giggly reunion with his school friends, who all jumped and screamed "GamGam!" upon his arrival.
- Exercising his new skills and showing off his new kicks by walking up a storm all over Jelly Bean.
- Sneakily trading snacks with a pal during lunch while the teachers' backs were turned - such a big kid!
He's already celebrated with a brownie and a cupcake and a whole lot of frosting,
buuuuuuuuuut we think we'll let him enjoy yet another treat
at our intimate family birthday party for three tomorrow after school.
Hip hip hooray!

51 Weeks

Visiting California this week - LOTS to do, people to see, steps to climb, so my sincere apologies for the belated second-to-last weekly update of the first year. We had a BIG first weekend in LA - stayed in an amazing airbnb, started walking like crazy, visited both new and old friends, first attempt at trick-or-treating, suddenly can clap and point...WHEW! Our smiley little dude is really rounding out the year with a bang.

Let the birthday week begin, Mr. Smiley!
