Everything looked good at our two year checkup. We've got a healthy, growing boy!
Weight - 27.5 lbs
Height - 34.5 inches
Head circumference - as big as ever!
G had to have blood drawn and DIDN'T. EVEN. FLINCH. After pricking his finger, the nurse had to squeeze and squeeze his poor little hand to get enough blood to fill the vial and he just sat there calmly watching her with a curious look on his face. So brave.
Saturday we had a birthday party for our big two-year-old (gah!). The weather was unfortunately expected to be quite dreary, so we decided to just have it right inside our apartment instead of as originally planned at a nearby park. Went ahead and invited his whole class (12 kids) plus a few other friends, thinking not everybody would be able to make it. WRONG. Every single person we invited RSVP'd yes...so it was quite a full house! I was a bit nervous beforehand about squishing everyone in, and though we were nearly bursting at the seams it ended up being a wonderful, intimate soiree.
My dear friend Alyssa's boyfriend Marco is an amateur (his distinction, not mine) photographer and agreed to come over and snap some pics of the kids. We are SO THANKFUL for what he was able to capture...
We love you more than anything, sweet Graham.

One year ago today you were wobbling slowly across the room...
Now there's hardly a moment when you aren't running or jumping or dancing.
My darling boy, I cannot believe you are two years old. You bring such joy not only to my life, but seemingly to everyone you meet. You are gregarious and gentle and kind. Watching you grow and learn has me constantly in awe. I am so very proud of you every single day.
This Sunday was the NY Marathon and the route went right by our house! Since it was only a block away, we popped over multiple times during the day to check out the action. When we first walked by early in the morning, we got to see the para-cyclists, then later came the runners. G was fascinated by both the participants and the onlookers cheering wildly.
Major score - happened upon several firetrucks parked along the route just a few blocks from our place, which the firemen on duty were kind enough to let us explore. Graham was a bit nervous at first, preferring to wave from afar, but he eventually warmed up and pushed every button he could get near.
Later in the day, we met up with Dave's uncle and cousins who were in town watching their mom (his aunt) run the marathon! It was cool, we were able to track her location in the race and position ourselves to see her run by at multiple points and (after a significant amount of time maneuvering around ridiculously elaborate blockages in Central Park) also greet her at the finish line.
