S is for Spring

It's about time to get back in the swing of regular posts, non? It's been a month since our last update, which means our second month in California is done, we are fully moved into our new house, spring has sprung, the flowers are in full bloom and SO MANY THINGS HAVE HAPPENED TO SHARE WITH YOU...

G went on his first camping trip.

Playing with all his old toys in his new room was very exciting.

Another new discovery - chocolate ice cream cones!

Got off to a bit of a rough start with G's new school with several tear-filled mornings (for both us),
but things are going much more smoothly now! He's got a few new friends, routine is kicking in,
and we found an awesome new park that's super easy to stop at on our drive home.

Now that we are feeling more comfortable,
drop-off has been a lot more pleasant for everyone.

Our new house has plenty of room for visitors, so both Jamma and PopPop have come down to stay a few times. The Farmer's Market at the Grove is just a few blocks away, so we often walk there for dinner and a trolley ride. On Friday nights they even have a 60s rock cover band, which we can hardly drag Pop Pop away from.

We got to see Leigh Leigh and Dabo as well, when we popped up to Nipomo for my birthday. My sweet friend Kaitlin surprised us with a pinata and my mom sprung for a bounce house (which Graham called "mouse house" all weekend)! It was quite a celebration.

Bunny Party 2017

Easter weekend we headed to Fresno for the 3rd annual Bunny Party at cousin Donnie's house and egg hunting at Aunt Carole's. Was fun to see the gang and Graham looooved looking for eggs (though the gleeful slamming of hard-earned eggs into his basket was a bit overzealous and hopefully will ease up a bit next year).

Sweet little bunnies.

Live entertainment.

Reluctant cuddles.

And an epic egg hunt in Aunt Carole's beautiful garden.

Hope you all had a happy Easter!

First Month in CA

Soooo we've been in California for an entire month now and I haven't provided any updates yet! Lamer than lame. Now that we are getting a little more settled, it's time to get back in the swing of things.

G has been having an awesome time in Nipomo. Our airbnb for the first few weeks on the west coast was less than ideal, but thankfully my parents were willing to keep Graham on the farm, so he didn't have to stay with us. Instead, he got to run free (and pants-less) on a daily basis.

So many chickens to feed, trash trucks to greet,
and lunches to be eaten al fresco...

When he did manage to get dressed,
our guy owned the catwalk at Cowgirl Cafe.

We're finally all moved in to a new place AND bought a prius (going full LA mode),
so more to come on the move as well as Graham's ongoing Nipomo adventures
and our upcoming trip to Lisbon (!) soon soon soon.

Long Weekend in Cazenovia

Cruised up to Cazenovia for Presidents Day weekend, so Graham could give a big squeeze to Grandma Laurie and Grampa Chris, as well as romp around in the snow and play in sawdust to his heart's content.

Beautiful weather all weekend, warm and perfectly clear. Caz had gotten significant snow all week up until our arrival, so everything was covered in a blanket of crisp white, but we got to enjoy it in the sun.

There was even enough fluff for us to do a bit of sledding...

which Grampa was super stoked about, but G wasn't so sure...

Took a bit of convincing, but eventually Graham loved it!

Rounded out the weekend with multiple batches of cookies from Laurie - always a treat.
And so happy she's feeling good enough to be baking and cooking again.

She sent us home with a big bag, too, though half were eaten on the drive home.
We couldn't help ourselves. Thanks, Laurie!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy heart day to you all. Hope it was full of love.

Ours was full of glue sticks and very serious concentration.

Plus one GIANT cupcake!

Happy heart day!
