Showered with Love

Super cheesy title, I know.  But it's true!  Last Sunday's bridal shower made me feel so loved.  It was wonderful to look around the room and see all of these special women from different areas of my life together in one spot.

My dear cousins threw an absolutely beautiful party. Thank you Lis and KK for a superb day!

All decked out and ready for guests!
All my favorite salads, yummm.

And cake! Don't forget the Costco icebox lemon cake!

Sweet Kacie flew out (for the day!), and Debbie brought Grandma Donnie along.
Three generations of incredibly caring women.

Aren't Michelle & my mom the cutest?

And then there was Mr. Congeniality, Linzy's adorable son Emmett.
He was born after I left for NYC, so this was actually my first time meeting him!
Most popular party guest by a landslide.

So many beautiful, thoughtful gifts.

And so many beautiful, thoughtful friends. I really am a lucky gal.

Aaaaand it wouldn't be a shower without silly shower games, right? Cue the Newlywed Quiz!!

Slightly terrifying to learn they'd secretly reached out to my husband-to-be with questions about our relationship.
But his answers proved to be both heartfelt and hilarious. A crowd favorite:

"Who is messier, Meg or Dave?"
"If you mean who is more "messier" as in less tidy, then it's probably Meg.  If you mean who is more like #11 Mark Messier (pr. "Mess-EE-ay") the lionhearted former Captain of the NY Rangers who, down 3 games to 2, guaranteed victory in the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals, effectively carrying a beaten team on his back for a full 60 minutes of play-off hockey, ultimately delivering a critical game 6 victory and forcing a game 7 against the Devils... Then it's definitely Meg."

Thank you ever so much to my two beautiful cousins and their adorable daughters -
it was a wonderful day and I truly appreciate all you did to make it special.

Even got to visit with some special bonus guests when they popped by to pick up their lady friends!

A thousand thank yous to all of the lovely ladies who came and made the day so special for me.
I can't wait to see you all again on the dance floor in January!
